Well, did you get your Hider souvenir in 2022? Well, if not, you'll get your chance to get a similar souvenir for your profile in 2023. In order to earn the 2023 Hider souvenir, all you have to do is hide a geocache or host an event in 2023. That's it. Easy, right? Well, if it was that easy, there would be many more geocaches to find and events to attend, but for me, I overthink things, so it's a little bit more difficult. But, I have plenty of ideas, so I'll try to throw at least one of them out there - but not until after the beginning of next year :-) Read the official blog post to learn a little bit more.

As another year comes to an end, there are two new souvenirs to keep an eye out for. Earn Drop Anchor 2022 by finding any geocache, attending an Event, or completing an Adventure Lab® Location from December 24–31, and earn Full Sail 2023 by finding any geocache, attending an Event, or completing an Adventure Lab® Location from January 1–8. Geocaching wants to beat their previous world record of the most explorers out caching in one day! In order to make that happen, and earn a souvenir in the process (if we can accomplish this monumental feat), they've chosen August 20, 2022 (that's right, International Geocaching Day and the date of the Geocaching 20 th Anniversary Celebration Event) to be the target date. The previous world record for most cachers exploring in one day was on August 11, 2013, with 126,833 geocachers logging finds or attending events, and surely we can beat it. In order to help accomplish this goal, log a "Found It" on a cache, complete an Adventure location or post an "Attended" on an event on August 20, 2022. Earlier this week, I received this trackable in the mail. I'll be releasing it soon at a nearby cache with the goal of visiting Bigfoot/Sasquatch hot spots or caches that honor this elusive creature. I hope it travels far and wide, and is maybe photographed with Bigfoot! International Geocaching Day is fast approaching and is being celebrated on August 20, 2022. Earn a souvenir by logging a find, attending an event or finding an Adventure Lab location.

Blue Switch Day is May 2, and Geocaching is celebrating it by offering a souvenir if you log a find on a cache, an Adventure location or attend an event from April 30 to May 2. Read more about it here .

The latest campaign from Geocaching is Signal's Labyrinth . Signal is lost in a labyrinth, and we need to help him find his way back to HQ! Every two months for the next twelve months, we will help him escape a different labyrinth. Two souvenirs can be earned in each labyrinth, and if we are able to earn all twelve souvenirs, we will earn a Meta-souvenir. The first labyrinth is the Enchanted Forest, and the first souvenir (Signal's Labyrinth: the forest) will be earned by getting 50 points and the second souvenir (Signal's Labyrinth: You escaped the forest) will be earned by getting 500 points. Earlier this year, Geocaching announced that this is the Year of the Hide. They've provided great advice on their blog about maintaining old caches and placing new ones. Well, a new announcement has proclaimed that if you get a new geocache published between March 1 and December 31 of this year, you'll earn a souvenir! You'll earn the souvenir for geocaches and events, but not for Adventure Locations. This is giving me some incentive to break out the ideas that I've come up with for mystery caches and to get cracking on the items I've collected to make cache containers from. I'm disappointed that my Adventure Lab credits won't count, but I can always work a bonus cache in!

CITO 2022, Season 1 begins March 1 and extends through May 31. This is our chance to improve the playing field for this game we love, and earn a souvenir while doing it!

Did you see the latest announcement from Geocaching? Yes, they're rolling out another batch of Virtual rewards! The application page opens today and closes February 26, 2022, and 4,000 randomly chosen geocachers, who meet the following requirements, will be given a Virtual Reward: Virtual Reward: You did not receive a previous Virtual Reward. Ownership: You must own at least two active non-Event geocaches. Hidden: You must own at least one geocache or Event published within the past four years (February 8, 2018 to February 8, 2022). Activity: You must have posted a log on a geocache within the past six months. Quality: Your owned geocaches must have at least 20 total Favorite points. Boy, am I late this year! For the first week of January, I was on a cruise and had no internet access and I feel like I'm lucky to have finished my graphic today. Unfortunately, this year I did not complete a single goal that I made last year. Blame it on the pandemic. So, without any further interuption, this was my geocaching year in all it's glory! So, as is evidenced by the above graphic, I earned all of the souvenirs offered by Geocaching this year. In addition to all of those, a new country souvenir was created for Jamaica, where I've found a cache several years ago and I "found" my first locationless cache, GC8NEAT . We participated in the 2021 Cache Across Maryland as well as completed enough of the American Revolution GeoTrail in New Jersey to earn the geocoin. I've been sending in submissions for the "I Found Sparticus" contest in FTF Geocacher magazine for some time, and I finally won an I Found Sparticus Pathtag in the random d

The latest trackable giveawy is from Nickelodeon and they are Kamp Koral Badge trackables! These trackables advertise a new television show on Paramount+ - "Kamp Koral - SpongeBob's Under Years."
