CITO 2022, Season 1

CITO 2022, Season 1 begins March 1 and extends through May 31. This is our chance to improve the playing field for this game we love, and earn a souvenir while doing it!

Virtual Rewards 3.0

Did you see the latest announcement from Geocaching? Yes, they're rolling out another batch of Virtual rewards! The application page opens today and closes February 26, 2022, and 4,000 randomly chosen geocachers, who meet the following requirements, will be given a Virtual Reward: Virtual Reward: You did not receive a previous Virtual Reward. Ownership: You must own at least two active non-Event geocaches. Hidden: You must own at least one geocache or Event published within the past four years (February 8, 2018 to February 8, 2022). Activity: You must have posted a log on a geocache within the past six months. Quality: Your owned geocaches must have at least 20 total Favorite points. 2021 - My Year in Review

Boy, am I late this year! For the first week of January, I was on a cruise and had no internet access and I feel like I'm lucky to have finished my graphic today. Unfortunately, this year I did not complete a single goal that I made last year. Blame it on the pandemic. So, without any further interuption, this was my geocaching year in all it's glory! So, as is evidenced by the above graphic, I earned all of the souvenirs offered by Geocaching this year. In addition to all of those, a new country souvenir was created for Jamaica, where I've found a cache several years ago and I "found" my first locationless cache, GC8NEAT . We participated in the 2021 Cache Across Maryland as well as completed enough of the American Revolution GeoTrail in New Jersey to earn the geocoin. I've been sending in submissions for the "I Found Sparticus" contest in FTF Geocacher magazine for some time, and I finally won an I Found Sparticus Pathtag in the random d

Reach the Peak of Everest

There's one peak left, and it's Everest ! The journey to the Basecamp (425 points) and Summit (8849 points) begins February 7, and each souvenir can be earned by accumulating points in the following manner: Complete an Adventure - 975 points Find a Mystery cache - 900 points Find a Multi cache - 850 points Find a cache with 15+ Favorite Points - 700 points Find an EarthCache - 650 points Find a Letterbox Hybrid - 550 points Log a find it (not an Event or a Webcam) - 425 points Find an Adventure Location - 125 points As an added bonus, if you've been keeping up with acquiring all of the previous Reach the Peak souvenirs, upon reaching the Summit of Everest, you should receive your Peak Performer souvenir.
